The current total number of Dota 2 heroes is 119. Dota 2 already has a huge amount of awesome heroes which are all free to play! They are separated into three groups: Strength, Agility, and Intelligence.
Every now and then, Valve releases new heroes, which are getting hyped and presented before the launch. Most of the Dota 2 heroes are the pre-existing heroes of Dota 1 (Defense of the Ancients).

Each hero in Dota 2 is unique, needs to be played differently and has a different tactical role!
Some heroes, are beneficial in playing support, some are good as a core, BUT: These hero roles are just set by Valve and by the community: Heroes can be played however you want and if it’s effective why shouldn’t you play the hero completely different? That is the great thing with the heroes in Dota 2: You have endless possibilities, herowise, itemwise and especially how you play the hero. Every human being on this earth is playing a hero different and that makes Dota 2 really fun to play. However, the given role is helpful for beginners and highlights the most efficient parts of that hero in general!

Hereos of Dota 2 are scattered in nine different roles: Nuker, Disabler, Jungler, Durable, Escape, Pusher, Initiator, Carry, and support:

• Dota 2 Nuker Heroes:

  Phoenix, Timbersaw, Shadow Fiend, Oracle, Queen of Pain, Invoker, Skywrath Mage, Techies, Tinker, Leshrac, Lion, Lina and Zeus.

• Disabler Heroes:

  Bane, Puck, Shadow Shaman and Lion.

• Dota 2 Jungle Heroes:

  Axe, Bat Rider, Chen, Enigma, Nature’s Prophet and Enchantress.

• Durable Heroes:

• Dota 2 Carry Heroes:

• Dota 2 Top Support Heros:

  IO, Treant Protector, Vengeful Spirit, Crystal Maiden, Oracle, Dazzle, Keeper of the Light and Witch Doctor.

These are all the heroes of each role, but they may vary according to the time because Valve makes frequent changes in the game. Sometimes support becomes eligible to be a carry Lion is the biggest example after its latest Ultimate charge update 80% players pick lion as a mid hero.

After the leak of Pitlord in Dota 2, Valve got quite serious about their upcoming heroes! 😉
Valve does not let anybody know about their forthcoming heroes – now the information about every new hero is officially launched by the Valve. There are many rumors about new Dota 2 heroes but almost every rumor is fake.
However, there is a hope that after an Internation tournament you will see a new face in the heroes category. Nobody is sure about the release date, attribute, design, or name, but we will publish official news on Dota2freaks.com!

Does Dota 2 has more Heroes
than Dota 1?

Yes, Dota 2 has more heroes than Dota 1, because 95% of heroes of Dota 2 are pre-existing heroes of Dota 1. Only a few new heroes came in Dota 2.

New Heroes in Dota 2, which had not been in Dota 1:

• Monkey King
• Dark Willow
• Mars
• Grim Stroke
• Pangolier
• Void Spirit
• Snapfire

There is no official statement of any other hero, but Valve never disappoints its audience. Hence, there are 50% chances that a new hero will come at the end of 2019 or the start of 2020. Till then play with your favorite heroes and become an expert in them! 😀

Which game has more Heroes: Dota 2 or League of Legends?

League of Legends is one of the biggest competitors of Dota 2 in the MOBA section. In LOL heroes are called Champions:

• The total amount of champions in League of Legends is 144.
• The Dota 2 Hero total hero amount is 119.

The total number is more than Dota 2 but still, Dota 2 has a more passionate and massive audience than LOL. Maybe Dota 2 cannot compete with LOL in hero numbers, but in graphics, versatility, balancing, audience, and features, LOL is not even near to Dota 2. 😀 (Sorry I have to say this on a Dota 2 website). 😉

Every month Valve evaluates the most picked and successful hero.
If you want to check the pick and success stat of each hero then there is an option in Dota 2 you can check it out:

• Run Dota 2.
• Click on the heroes option.
• Now select the hero which you want to see the stats.
• Click on the Trends.
• All the stats of your rank will appear.

When I checked it today, the hero with the most win rate is Chen, and the hero that is picked up the most is Windranger. But this will change with every new meta! 😉 You can follow the above option for individual search or overall search!
