Why pick Mirana?
Pick Mirana when your team needs a roaming support who can stun from long range and open fights with team invisibility.

Fire from fog, follow up with Starstorm and give your team an invisible approach.
Mirana is a mobile ranged support with a long-range arrow stun, area damage, a leap and a team-wide invisibility ultimate.
Pick Mirana when your team needs a roaming support who can stun from long range and open fights with team invisibility.
Avoid Mirana when the enemy has plenty of detection and area spells, or when your team needs a support who can save allies directly.

Mirana is a mobile ranged support with a long-range arrow stun, area damage, a leap and a team-wide invisibility ultimate.
Mirana is a ranged Agility hero. Our recommended role is position 4 support, with mid as an alternative.
Mirana creates kills from distance. Sacred Arrow stuns longer the farther it travels, Starstorm adds damage in an area, and Leap lets her reach a fight or leave it. Moonlight Shadow makes the whole team invisible for a surprise attack or a retreat. Pick her when your team wants a roaming support who can start fights from fog and still be useful later with items.
Harass with attacks and Starstorm while your carry farms, and fire Sacred Arrow from fog when an enemy walks a predictable path. A long-range arrow stuns for several seconds and sets up an easy kill with your lane partner. Pull or stack when the lane is quiet, and keep Leap available in case the enemy supports dive.
Before a fight, position so an arrow can travel at least a full screen before reaching a target. Open on the hero who will try to escape, follow with Starstorm and attacks, and use Leap to reposition rather than to start. Save Moonlight Shadow for group smokes, a retreat after a lost fight, or to approach an objective without vision.
Start with regen, wards and a Magic Stick, then Tranquil Boots and Magic Wand. Urn of Shadows and Force Staff are the usual early items for a roaming support, and Blink Dagger turns Leap into a second escape so you can arrow from aggressive spots. Spirit Vessel, Eul's Scepter and Aghanim's Scepter round out the support build; a mid Mirana buys Dragon Lance, Manta Style and Black King Bar.

Sacred Arrow's stun grows with the distance it travels until it reaches its maximum, and the bonus damage scales the same way. Fire from fog at the edge of its range along a lane or jungle path rather than point-blank. Point-blank arrows are only worth it to interrupt a channel or confirm a kill.

Starstorm damages every enemy around Mirana and strikes the closest one a second time for a portion of the damage. Stand so your main target is the nearest enemy when you cast, and use it on stunned heroes after an arrow to add damage before the stun ends.

Leap moves Mirana a fixed distance in the direction she faces and grants a short burst of movement and attack speed. Use it to jump over trees or cliffs when escaping, to catch a fleeing hero after an arrow, or to reach a fog position for the next shot. Do not leap forward into fights before the arrow has landed.
| Detail | What it means in your game |
|---|---|
| Starstorm | Calls down a wave of meteors that damages nearby enemies, striking the closest target a second time. |
| Sacred Arrow | Fires a long-range arrow that stuns and damages the first enemy hit; stun and damage grow with distance travelled. |
| Leap | Leaps forward a fixed distance and grants a short bonus to movement and attack speed. |
| Moonlight Shadow | Turns Mirana and all allied heroes invisible after a fade delay, with extra movement speed and damage. |
Mirana is usually played as a position 4 roaming support who sets up kills with Sacred Arrow and uses Moonlight Shadow for team plays. She can also play mid, where Starstorm clears waves and her attack items scale into the late game. The support role needs less farm and makes the most of her arrows from fog.
As a support, start with regen and wards, then Tranquil Boots and Magic Wand. Urn of Shadows, Force Staff and Blink Dagger are common early cores, followed by Spirit Vessel, Eul's Scepter of Divinity or Aghanim's Scepter. A mid Mirana buys Power Treads, Dragon Lance, Manta Style and Black King Bar, finishing with Butterfly or Daedalus.
Mirana is a good support for players who enjoy skillshots. Sacred Arrow takes practice, but missed arrows cost little when fired from safety, and Leap forgives positioning mistakes. Beginners should focus on firing arrows along predictable paths and using Moonlight Shadow for retreats before trying aggressive team invisibility plays.
Moonlight Shadow makes all allied heroes invisible after a short fade delay and grants bonus movement speed and damage while it lasts. Use it to approach a fight or Roshan unseen, to help the team escape after a lost engagement, or to re-enter invisibility during a fight. Enemies with detection or area spells reduce its value, so check their items first.
